Eileen Nearne was a operative with the British SOE during WW2 in occupied France working as a radio operator.She was captured and tortured ,sent to a concentration camp ,then to a work camp where she escaped was recaptured on two occasions but persuaded the Gestapo and the SS she was somebody else .She was sheltered by a priest in Leipzig until she was liberated by US troops in may 1945.After the war she lived as a recluse until her death she was about to be buried by the council with out a service until they discovered her medals ,now she is to be buried with military honours befitting somebody who saw active service,many people from allover the world have offered to pay for her funeral and flowers .Read more at
